The National Traditional Chinese Medicine Production and Engineering
Technology Research Center is under the direct guidance of the
National Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration Bureau
and Administration Committee, it enjoys a high reputation in
the industry and keeps good relations with the corresponding
government. It has gained an advantage in the research and implementation
of new technology (over-critical technology for example) and
accumulated a number of technical achievements. It has recently
earned a position in the list of the 15 nation-level engineering
centers named by the National Science and Technology Department.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine Engineering
Research Institute of East China University of Science and Technology
Founded in 1994, the Traditional Chinese Medicine
Engineering Research Institute of East China University of Science
and Technology owns a staff of 30 professionals, among which
14 are professors, vice-professors or chief engineers.
With the goal of probing the new science of traditional
Chinese medicine, the Institute consists of talents from many
field, such as chemical engineering, refine chemistry, medicine
chemistry and chemical analysis. Shanghai Xiandan Traditional
Chinese Medicine Technology Development Co., Ltd is a joint
venture co-invested by Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese
Medicine, Xin Changning Group and the Traditional Chinese
Medicine Engineering Research Institute of East
China University of Science and Technology. By signing an agreement
with the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Production and
Engineering Technology Research Center, a sub-center of East
China University of Science and Technology has been set up.
The main research focuses on: the process and technique of extracting
traditional Chinese medicine, the extraction of effective elements,
new separation method and device, new fractional material and
new preparation. Since its foundation, 6 scientific achievements
have been appraised by provincial or ministerial sector with
2 won awards.

The National Biochemical Engineering Technical Research Center,
Shanghai Branch possesses strong technical strength in the industry,
especially in the fields of microbial fermentation and DCS auto-controlled
multi-parametric fermentation.
